Superblock Concepts

Vehicle access blocked from local street to neighborhood collector. A small house could be placed at the end of the street without sacrificing pedestrian access. Gardens, benches, playground would also be appropriate. Blocking local streets provides a safer place for biking.

Vacated street right-of-way turned to grass and trees could as well include a house relocated from stream or transportation corridor with ample space retained for pedestrian access.

Small house in the center of this picture fronts only on an alley. A standard sized street would have required the space now occupied by three houses.
